The first weekend in May offers you a wonderful opportunity to train with the founder of Aikido of Phoenix, Fred Mastison Sensei, 5th Dan. Don’t miss out! Training will be from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm each day. The cost is $50 for both days and $30 for one day.

The seminar will be held at 939 S. 48th St. Suite 208 in Tempe. We will break for lunch and you are welcome to bring your own lunch or go out to the nearby eateries. There are restrooms available, but bring your own water. Saturday will be open hand techniques, but Sunday’s class will be bokken work so bring your bokken if you have one (bokkens will be available to use if you don’t have one). If you have a hakkama you may wear it on Sunday for the kenjitsu class as it is part of the traditional kenjitsu uniform.

January 22nd and 23rd, 2011 – Tempe, AZ

Some of you recently attended the Fall Bridge Seminar in Prescott and thoroughly enjoyed the training and comaraderie. We would like to offer the seminar experience to Aikido of Phoenix students as well as anyone who is interested. Join us as Fred Mastison Sensei (founder and Kancho of Aikido of Phoenix) shares his years of experience in Aikido through a two-day seminar. The first day will be open-hand techniques and the second day will be weapons work (bokken and jo). It will be a fun and exciting learning experience for all who attend. We are hoping this becomes an annual event that will give Aikido of Phoenix students an opportunity to have a seminar experience without a lot of travel and expense. Mark you calendars now and plan on attending this wonderful opportunity.

Lucy Mailloux Sensei will be conducting a self-defense class on Saturday, February 27 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the South Chandler dojo. There will be no adult Aikido class that day due to this special event. The class will cover basic self-defense techniques including grabs, chokes and knife defenses. You do not have to be an Aikido of Phoenix student to participate so tell your friends and family or bring them along.

Cost will be $25 per participant. Contact Lucy Mailloux Sensei for registration and payment.
