Teresa Mastison SenseiThe Chief Instructor of Aikido of Phoenix is Teresa Mastison Sensei. Mastison Sensei holds the rank of Godan (5th degree black belt) and is a two decade veteran of the martial arts. Mastison Sensei has studied directly under two of the highest ranking instructors in the country; Shihan Bill Sosa Sensei, 6th degree black belt, and Shihan Peter Ting Sensei, 6th degree black belt. In July of 1994, Mastison Sensei moved to Arizona at the urging of the late Kobayashi Sensei – Chief Instructor and founder of the Seidokan Aikido style. Once in the valley, she established Aikido of Phoenix. From a meager beginning of two students, Aikido of Phoenix has grown into two schools with over 180 students. In August of 2007, Mastison Sensei was honored on 2006 by being inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Children’s instructor of the year. |
